I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “sting..”.

Proverbs  23:32 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red,
when it giveth his colour in the cup,
when it moveth itself aright.

Proverbs  23:32  At the last it biteth like a serpent,
and stingeth like an adder.

1 Corinthians  15:55  O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?

1 Corinthians  15:56  The sting of death is sin;
and the strength of sin is the law.

Revelation  9:10  And they had tails like unto scorpions,
