I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “pit”.
Job 6:27 Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless,
and ye dig a pit for your friend.
Job 17:14 I have said to corruption, Thou art my father:
to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
Job 17:15 And where is now my hope?
as for my hope, who shall see it?
Job 17:16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit,
when our rest together is in the dust.
Job 33:18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit,
and his life from perishing by the sword.
Job 33:24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith,
Deliver him from going down to the pit:
I have found a ransom.
Job 33:28 He will deliver his soul from going into the pit,
and his life shall see the light.
