I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “contemned”.

Psalms 15:4   In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;
but he honoureth them that fear the LORD.
He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

Psalms 107:11   Because they rebelled against the words of God,
and contemned the counsel of the most High:

Song of Solomon 8:7   Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can the floods drown it:
if a man would give all the substance of his house for love,
it would utterly be contemned.

Isaiah 16:14   But now the LORD hath spoken, saying,
Within three years, as the years of an hireling,
and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude;
and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
