I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “believed” from the Old Testament.
Gen 15:6 And he believed in the LORD;
and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Gen 45:26 And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive,
and he is governor over all the land of Egypt.
And Jacob’s heart fainted,
for he believed them not.
Exo 4:31 And the people believed:
and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel,
and that he had looked upon their affliction,
then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
Exo 14:31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians:
and the people feared the LORD,
and believed the LORD,
and his servant Moses.
Num 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron,
Because ye believed me not,
to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel,
therefore ye shall not bring this congregation
into the land which I have given them.
Deu 9:23 Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying,
Go up and possess the land which I have given you;
then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God,
and ye believed him not,
nor hearkened to his voice.
1Sa 27:12 And Achish believed David, saying,
He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him;
therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
1Ki 10:7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came,
and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me:
thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard.
2Ch 9:6 Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came,
and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold,
the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me:
for thou exceedest the fame that I heard.
Job 29:24 If I laughed on them, they believed it not;
and the light of my countenance they cast not down.
Psa 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see
the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Psa 78:22 Because they believed not in God,
and trusted not in his salvation:
Psa 78:32 For all this they sinned still,
and believed not for his wondrous works.
Psa 106:12 Then believed they his words;
they sang his praise.
Psa 106:24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land,
they believed not his word:
Psa 116:10 I believed, therefore have I spoken:
I was greatly afflicted:
Psa 119:66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge:
for I have believed thy commandments.
Isa 53:1 Who hath believed our report?
and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Jer 40:14 And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that
Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah to slay thee?
But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.
Lam 4:12 The kings of the earth,
and all the inhabitants of the world,
would not have believed that the adversary
and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
Dan 6:23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him,
and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den.
So Daniel was taken up out of the den,
and no manner of hurt was found upon him,
because he believed in his God.
Jon 3:5 So the people of Nineveh believed God,
and proclaimed a fast,
and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
