I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “fret”. Surprisingly, it is found only in the Old Testament (KJV).
Leviticus 13:51 And he shall look on the plague on the seventh day:
if the plague be spread in the garment,
either in the warp,
or in the woof,
or in a skin,
or in any work that is made of skin;
the plague is a fretting leprosy;
it is unclean.
Leviticus 13:52 He shall therefore burn that garment,
whether warp
or woof,
in woollen
or in linen,
or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is:
for it is a fretting leprosy;
it shall be burnt in the fire.
Leviticus 13:55 And the priest shall look on the plague,
after that it is washed:
and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour,
and the plague be not spread;
it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire;
it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without.
Leviticus 14:44 Then the priest shall come and look,
and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house,
it is a fretting leprosy in the house:
it is unclean.
1 Samuel 1:6 And her adversary also provoked her sore,
for to make her fret,
because the LORD had shut up her womb.
Psalms 37:1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Psalms 37:8 Cease from anger,
and forsake wrath:
fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Proverbs 19:3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way:
and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
Proverbs 24:19Fret not thyself because of evil men,
neither be thou envious at the wicked;
Isaiah 8:21 And they shall pass through it,
hardly bestead and hungry:
and it shall come to pass,
that when they shall be hungry,
they shall fret themselves,
and curse their king and their God,
and look upward.
Ezekiel 16:43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth,
but hast fretted me in all these things;
behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD:
and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
