I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “shepherd”.
Genesis 46:32
And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
Genesis 46:34
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
Genesis 47:3
And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and also our fathers.
Genesis 49:24
But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Exodus 2:17

மேய்ப்பர்களே, அலறுங்கள்; மந்தையில் பிரஸ்தாபமானவர்களே, சாம்பலில் புரண்டு கதறுங்கள்; நீங்கள் வெட்டப்படவும் சிதறடிக்கப்படவும் உங்கள் நாட்கள் நிறைவேறின; உச்சிதமான பாத்திரம்போல் விழுந்து நொறுங்குவீர்கள்.
Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
Jeremiah 25:35
மேய்ப்பர்கள் ஓடிப்போகிறதற்கும், மந்தையில் பிரஸ்தாபமானவர்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கும் இடமிராது.
And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
Jeremiah 25:36
தங்கள் மேய்ச்சலைக் கர்த்தர் பாழாக்கினதினிமித்தம் மேய்ப்பர்கள் கூப்பிடுகிறதும், மந்தையில் பிரஸ்தாபமானவர்கள் அலறுகிறதுமான சத்தமுண்டாகும்.
A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
Jeremiah 31:10
ஜாதிகளே, நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக்கேட்டு, தூரத்திலுள்ள தீவுகளில் அறிவித்து, இஸ்ரவேலைச் சிதறடித்தவர் அதைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் தன் மந்தையைக் காக்கும்வண்ணமாக அதைக் காப்பார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.
Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
Jeremiah 33:12
மனுஷனும் மிருகமும் இல்லாமல் அவாந்தரவெளியாய்க்கிடக்கிற இவ்விடத்திலும், இதற்கடுத்த பட்டணங்களிலும், ஆட்டுமந்தையை மேய்த்து மடக்குகிற மேய்ப்பர்களின் தாபரங்கள் உண்டாயிருக்கும் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
Jeremiah 43:12
எகிப்தின் தேவர்களுடைய கோவில்களில் அக்கினியைக் கொளுத்துவேன்; அவன் அவைகளைச் சுட்டெரித்து, அவைகளைச் சிறைபிடித்துப்போய், ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் தன் கம்பளியைப் போர்த்துக்கொள்ளுமாப்போல் எகிப்து தேசத்தைப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டு, அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து சுகமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டுப்போவான்.
And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
Jeremiah 49:19
இதோ, புரண்டு ஓடுகிற யோர்தானிடத்திலிருந்து சிங்கம் வருவதுபோல் பலவானுடைய தாபரத்துக்கு விரோதமாக வருகிறான்; அவனைச் சடிதியிலே அங்கேயிருந்து ஓடிவரப்பண்ணுவேன்; நான் அதற்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டளையிட்டு அனுப்பத்தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவன் யார்? எனக்குச் சமானமானவன் யார்? எனக்கு மட்டுக்கட்டுகிறவன் யார்? எனக்கு முன்பாக நிலைநிற்கப்போகிற மேய்ப்பன் யார்?
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
Jeremiah 50:6
என் ஜனங்கள் காணாமற்போன ஆடுகள், அவர்களுடைய மேய்ப்பர்கள் அவர்களைச் சிதறப்பண்ணி, பர்வதங்களில் அலையவிட்டார்கள்; ஒரு மலையிலிருந்து மறுமலைக்குப் போனார்கள்; தங்கள் தொழுவத்தை மறந்துவிட்டார்கள்.
My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
Jeremiah 50:44

Jeremiah 51:23
உன்னைக்கொண்டு மேய்ப்பனையும் அவனுடைய மந்தையையும் நொறுக்குவேன்; உன்னைக்கொண்டு உழவனையும் அவனுடைய உழவுகாளைகளையும் நொறுக்குவேன்; உன்னைக்கொண்டு அதிபதிகளையும் அதிகாரிகளையும் நொறுக்குவேன்.
I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.
Ezekiel 34:2
மனுபுத்திரனே, இஸ்ரவேலின் மேய்ப்பருக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரை; நீ தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்து, அவர்களோடே சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் மேய்ப்பருக்குச் சொல்லுகிறார்; தங்களையே மேய்க்கிற இஸ்ரவேலின் மேய்ப்பருக்கு ஐயோ! மேய்ப்பர் அல்லவா மந்தையை மேய்க்கவேண்டும்.
Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
Ezekiel 34:5
மேய்ப்பன் இல்லாததினால் அவைகள் சிதறுண்டுபோயின; சிதறுண்டு போனவைகள் காட்டு மிருகங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இரையாயின.
And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.
Ezekiel 34:7
ஆகையால், மேய்ப்பரே, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்.
Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
Ezekiel 34:8
கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவராயிருக்கிற நான் என் ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன்; மேய்ப்பன் இல்லாததினால் என் ஆடுகள் சூறையாகி, என் ஆடுகள் காட்டுமிருகங்களுக்கெல்லாம் இரையாய்ப் போயின; என் மேய்ப்பர்கள் என் ஆடுகளை விசாரியாமற்போனார்கள், மேய்ப்பர்கள் மந்தையை மேய்க்காமல் தங்களையே மேய்த்தார்கள்.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
Ezekiel 34:9
ஆகையால் மேய்ப்பரே, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்.
Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
Ezekiel 34:10
கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்: இதோ, நான் மேய்ப்பருக்கு விரோதமாக வந்து, என் ஆடுகளை அவர்கள் கையிலே கேட்டு, மேய்ப்பர் இனித் தங்களையே மேய்க்காதபடி, மந்தையை மேய்க்கும் தொழிலைவிட்டு அவர்களை விலக்கி, என் ஆடுகள் அவர்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாயிராதபடி, அவைகளை அவர்கள் வாய்க்குத் தப்பப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று சொல்லு.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
Ezekiel 34:12
ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் சிதறுண்ட தன் ஆடுகளின் நடுவே இருக்கிற நாளில் தன் மந்தையைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதுபோல, நான் என் ஆடுகளைத்தேடி, மப்பும் மந்தாரமுமான நாளிலே அவைகள் சிதறுண்டுபோன எல்லா இடங்களிலுமிருந்து அவைகளைத் தப்பிவரப்பண்ணி,
As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Ezekiel 34:23
அவர்களை மேய்க்கும்படி என் தாசனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் ஒரே மேய்ப்பனை நான் அவர்கள்மேல் விசாரிப்பாயிருக்க ஏற்படுத்துவேன்; இவர் அவர்களை மேய்த்து, இவரே அவர்களுக்கு மேய்ப்பனாயிருப்பார்.
And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Ezekiel 37:24

Amos 1:2
கர்த்தர் சீயோனிலிருந்து கெர்ச்சித்து, எருசலேமிலிருந்து சத்தமிடுவார்; அதினால் மேய்ப்பரின் தாபரங்கள் துக்கங்கொண்டாடும்; கர்மேலின் கொடுமுடியும் காய்ந்துபோகும்.
And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
Amos 3:12
மேலும்: ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் இரண்டு கால்களையாவது ஒரு காதின் துண்டையாவது சிங்கத்தின் வாயிலிருந்து பிடுங்கித் தப்புவிக்குமாப்போல, சமாரியாவில் குடியிருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ஒரு படுக்கையின் மூலையிலிருந்தும், ஒரு மஞ்சத்தின்மேலிருந்தும் தப்புவிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
Micah 5:5
இவரே சமாதான காரணர்; அசீரியன் நம்முடைய தேசத்திலே வரும்போதும், நம்முடைய அரண்மனைகளை மிதிக்கும்போதும், ஏழு மேய்ப்பரையும் மனுஷரில் எட்டு அதிபதிகளையும் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாக நிறுத்துவேன்.
And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Nahum 3:18
அசீரியா ராஜாவே, உன் மேய்ப்பர்கள் உறங்குவார்கள்; உன் பிரபலஸ்தர் படுத்திருப்பார்கள்; உன் ஜனங்கள் பர்வதங்களின்மேல் சிதறியிருக்கிறார்கள், அவைகளைக் கூட்டிச் சேர்ப்பவன் இல்லை.

Zephaniah 2:6

And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
Zechariah 10:2

For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
Zechariah 10:3
மேய்ப்பருக்கு விரோதமாக என் கோபம் மூண்டது; கடாக்களைத் தண்டித்தேன்; சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் யூதா வம்சத்தாராகிய தமது மந்தையை விசாரித்து, அவர்களை யுத்தத்திலே தமது சிறந்த குதிரையாக நிறுத்துவார்.
Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
Zechariah 11:3
மேய்ப்பர்களின் மகிமை அழிந்துபோனபடியால், அவர்கள் அலறுகிற சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது; யோர்தானின் பெருமை அழிந்துபோனபடியால், பாலசிங்கங்கள் கர்ச்சிக்கிற சத்தம் கேட்கப்படுகிறது.
There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
Zechariah 11:5
அவைகளை உடையவர்கள், அவைகளைக் கொன்றுபோட்டுத் தங்களுக்குக் குற்றமில்லையென்று எண்ணுகிறார்கள். அவைகளை விற்கிறவர்கள், கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம், நாங்கள் ஐசுவரியமுள்ளவர்களானோம் என்கிறார்கள்; அவைகளை மேய்க்கிறவர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் இரக்கம் வைக்கிறதில்லை.
Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
Zechariah 11:8
ஒரே மாதத்திலே மூன்று மேய்ப்பரையும் அதம்பண்ணினேன்; என் ஆத்துமா அவர்களை அரோசித்தது; அவர்கள் ஆத்துமா என்னையும் வெறுத்தது.
Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
Zechariah 11:15
கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நீ மதியற்ற ஒரு மேய்ப்பனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை இன்னும் எடுத்துக்கொள்.
And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Zechariah 11:16
இதோ, நான் தேசத்திலே ஒரு மேய்ப்பனை எழும்பப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவன் அதமாகிறவைகளைப் பராமரிக்காமலும், சிதறுண்டதைத் தேடாமலும், நொறுங்குண்டதைக் குணமாக்காமலும், இளைத்திருக்கிறதை ஆதரிக்காமலும், கொழுத்ததின் மாம்சத்தைத் தின்று, அவைகளுடைய குளம்புகளை உடைத்துப்போடுவான்.
For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
Zechariah 11:17
மந்தையைக் கைவிடுகிற அபத்தமான மேய்ப்பனுக்கு ஐயோ! பட்டயம் அவன் புயத்தின்மேலும் அவன் வலது கண்ணின்மேலும் வரும்; அவன் புயமுழுதும் சூம்பிப்போகும்; அவன் வலது கண் முற்றிலும் இருள் அடையும் என்றார்.
Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Zechariah 13:7
பட்டயமே, என் மேய்ப்பன்மேலும் என் தோழனாகிய புருஷன்மேலும் எழும்பு என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டு, அப்பொழுது ஆடுகள் சிதறிப்போகும்; ஆனாலும் என் கரத்தைச் சிறுவர்மேல் திரும்பவைப்பேன்.
Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
Matthew 9:36

அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன்; மந்தையின் ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிமித்தம் இடறலடைவீர்கள்.
Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
Mark 6:34
இயேசு கரையில் வந்து, அநேக ஜனங்களைக் கண்டு, அவர்கள் மேய்ப்பனில்லாத ஆடுகளைப் போலிருந்தபடியால், அவர்கள்மேல் மனதுருகி, அநேக காரியங்களை அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசிக்கத் தொடங்கினார்.
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
Mark 14:27
அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன், ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும், என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே நீங்களெல்லாரும் என்னிமித்தம் இடறலடைவீர்கள்.

Luke 2:8
அப்பொழுது அந்த நாட்டிலே மேய்ப்பர்கள் வயல்வெளியில் தங்கி, இராத்திரியிலே தங்கள் மந்தையைக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luke 2:15
தேவதூதர்கள் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பரலோகத்துக்குப் போனபின்பு, மேய்ப்பர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: நாம் பெத்லகேம் ஊருக்குப் போய், நடந்ததாகக் கர்த்தரால் நமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்தக் காரியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
Luke 2:18
மேய்ப்பராலே தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் கேட்ட யாவரும் அவைகளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
Luke 2:20
மேய்ப்பர்களும் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதின்படியே கேட்டு கண்ட எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, துதித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
John 10:2
வாசல்வழியாய்ப் பிரவேசிக்கிறவனோ ஆடுகளின் மேய்ப்பனாயிருக்கிறான்.
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:11
நானே நல்ல மேய்ப்பன்: நல்ல மேய்ப்பன் ஆடுகளுக்காகத் தன் ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிறான்.
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 10:12
மேய்ப்பனாயிராதவனும், ஆடுகள் தனக்குச் சொந்தமல்லாதவனுமான கூலியாள் ஓநாய் வருகிறதைக் கண்டு ஆடுகளை விட்டு ஓடிப்போகிறான்; அப்பொழுது ஓநாய் ஆடுகளைப்பீறி, அவைகளைச் சிதறடிக்கும்.
But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
John 10:14
நானே நல்ல மேய்ப்பன்; பிதா என்னை அறிந்திருக்கிறதுபோலவும், நான் பிதாவை அறிந்திருக்கிறதுபோலவும்,
I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
John 10:16
இந்தத் தொழுவத்திலுள்ளவைகளல்லாமல் வேறே ஆடுகளும் எனக்கு உண்டு; அவைகளையும் நான் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும், அவைகள் என் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கும், அப்பொழுது ஒரே மந்தையும் ஒரே மேய்ப்பனுமாகும்.
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Hebrews 13:20
நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையின் இரத்தத்தினாலே ஆடுகளுடைய பெரிய மேய்ப்பரான நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவை மரித்தோரிலிருந்து ஏறிவரப்பண்ணின சமாதானத்தின் தேவன்,
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
1 Peter 2:25
சிதறுண்ட ஆடுகளைப்போலிருந்தீர்கள்; இப்பொழுதோ உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு மேய்ப்பரும் கண்காணியுமானவரிடத்தில் திருப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
1 Peter 5:4
அப்படிச் செய்தால் பிரதான மேய்ப்பர் வெளிப்படும்போது மகிமையுள்ள வாடாத கிரீடத்தைப் பெறுவீர்கள்.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
