I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “I repent“.

Jer 31:19 Surely after that I was turned,
I repented;
and after that I was instructed,
I smote upon my thigh:
I was ashamed,
yea, even confounded,
because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

Jer 42:10 If ye will still abide in this land,
then will I build you,
and not pull you down,
and I will plant you,
and not pluck you up:
for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

Eze 24:14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass,
and I will do it;
I will not go back,
neither will I spare,
