I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “shortened”.

Psa 89:45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened:
thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

Psa 102:23 He weakened
my strength in the way;
he shortened my days.

Pro 10:27 The fear of the LORD
prolongeth days:
but the years of the wicked
shall be shortened.

Isa 50:2 Wherefore, when I came,
was there no man?
when I called,
was there none to answer?
Is my hand shortened at all,
that it cannot redeem?
or have I no power to deliver?
behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea,
I make the rivers a wilderness:
their fish stinketh,
because there is no water,
and dieth for thirst.

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened,
