I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “dead”.

Job 1:19 And, behold, there came a great wind
from the wilderness,
and smote the four corners of the house,
and it fell upon the young men,
and they are dead;
and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Job 26:5 Dead things are formed
from under the waters,
and the inhabitants thereof.

Psa 17:9 From the wicked that oppress me,
from my deadly enemies,
who compass me about.

Psa 31:12 I am forgotten
as a dead man out of mind:
I am like a broken vessel.

Psa 76:6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both the chariot
and horse are cast into a dead sleep.

Psa 79:2 The dead bodies
of thy servants have they given
to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven,
the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

Psa 88:5 Free among the dead,
like the slain that lie in the grave,
whom thou rememberest no more:
and they are cut off from thy hand.

Psa 88:10 Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead?
shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.

Psa 106:28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor,
and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

Psa 110:6 He shall judge among the heathen,
he shall fill the places with the dead bodies;
he shall wound the heads over many countries.

Psa 115:17 The dead praise not the LORD,
neither any that go down into silence.

Psa 143:3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul;
he hath smitten my life down to the ground;
he hath made me to dwell in darkness,
as those that have been long dead.

Pro 2:18 For her house inclineth unto death,
and her paths unto the dead.

Pro 9:13 A foolish woman is clamorous:
she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Pro 21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way
of understanding shall remain
in the congregation of the dead.

Ecc 4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead
which are already dead more than
the living which are yet alive.

Ecc 9:3 This is an evil among all things
that are done under the sun,
that there is one event unto all:
yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil,
and madness is in their heart while they live,
and after that they go to the dead.

Ecc 9:4 For to him that is joined
to all the living there is hope:
for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die:
but the dead know not any thing,
neither have they any more a reward;
for the memory of them is forgotten.

Ecc 10:1 Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary
to send forth a stinking savour:
so doth a little folly him that is in reputation
for wisdom and honour.
