I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “received him”.

Luk 8:40 And it came to pass, that,
when Jesus was returned,
the people gladly received him:
for they were all waiting for him.

Luk 10:38 Now it came to pass, as they went,
that he entered into a certain village:
and a certain woman named Martha
received him into her house.

Luk 15:27 And he said unto him,
Thy brother is come;
and thy father hath killed the fatted calf,
because he hath received him safe and sound.

Luk 19:6 And he made haste,
and came down,
and received him joyfully.

Joh 1:11 He came unto his own,
and his own received him not.
