I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “vanities”.

Deu 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy
with that which is not God;
they have provoked me to anger with their vanities:
and I will move them to jealousy
with those which are not a people;
I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

1Ki 16:13 For all the sins of Baasha,
and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned,
and by which they made Israel to sin,
in provoking the LORD God of Israel
to anger with their vanities.

1Ki 16:26 For he walked in all the way of
Jeroboam the son of Nebat,
and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin,
to provoke the LORD God of Israel
to anger with their vanities.

Psa 31:6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities:
but I trust in the LORD.

Ecc 1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher,
vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

Ecc 5:7 For in the multitude of dreams
and many words there are also divers vanities:
but fear thou God.

Jer 8:19 Behold the voice of the cry of
the daughter of my people

Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her?
Why have they provoked me to anger
with their graven images,
and with strange vanities?

Jer 10:8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish:
the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

that can cause rain?
or can the heavens give showers?
art not thou he, O LORD our God?
