I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “loved him”.

Gen 37:4 And when his brethren saw that
their father loved him more than all his brethren,
they hated him,
and could not speak peaceably unto him.

1Sa 16:21 And David came to Saul,
and stood before him:
and he loved him greatly;
and he became his armourbearer.

1Sa 18:1 And it came to pass,
when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul,
that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David,
and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

1Sa 18:3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant,
because he loved him as his own soul.

1Sa 18:28 And Saul saw and knew that
the LORD was with David,
and that Michal Saul’s daughter loved him.

1Sa 20:17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again,
because he loved him:
for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

2Sa 12:24 And David comforted Bathsheba his wife,

and the LORD loved him.
