I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “glad”.
Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad:
for great is your reward in heaven:
for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Mark 4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground;
who, when they have heard the word,
immediately receive it with gladness;
