I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “hearken”.

Mar 4:3 Hearken; Behold,
there went out a sower to sow:
4. And it came to pass, as he sowed,
some fell by the way side,
and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

Mar 7:14 And when he had called all the people unto him,
he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you,
and understand:
15. There is nothing from without a man,
that entering into him can defile him:
but the things which come out of him,
those are they that defile the man.

Act 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice,
and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea,
and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you,
and hearken to my words:
15. For these are not drunken, as ye suppose,
seeing it is  but the third hour of the day.

Act 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them,
Whether it be right in the sight of God
to hearken unto you more than unto God,
judge ye.

and not have loosed from Crete,
and to have gained this harm and loss.

Jam 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren,
Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith,
and heirs of the kingdom
which he hath promised to them that love him?
