I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “strive”.
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said,
My spirit shall not always strive with man,
for that he also is flesh:
yet his days shall be
an hundred and twenty years.
Gen 26:20 And the herdmen of Gerar did strive
with Isaac’s herdmen, saying,
The water is ours:
and he called the name of the well Esek;
because they strove with him.

and one smite another with a stone,
or with his fist,
and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
Exo 21:22 If men strive,
and hurt a woman with child,
so that her fruit depart from her,
and yet no mischief follow:
he shall be surely punished,
according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him;
and he shall pay as the judges determine.
Deu 25:11 When men strive together one with another,
and the wife of the one draweth near
for to deliver her husband
out of the hand of him that smiteth him,
and putteth forth her hand,
and taketh him by the secrets:
Deu 33:8 And of Levi he said, Let thy Thummim
and thy Urim be with thy holy one,
whom thou didst prove at Massah,
and with whom thou didst strive
at the waters of Meribah;
Jdg 11:25 And now art thou any thing better than
Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab?
did he ever strive against Israel,
or did he ever fight against them,

for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Psa 35:1 < A Psalm of David.> Plead my cause, O LORD,
with them that strive with me:
fight against them that fight against me.
Pro 3:30 Strive not with a man without cause,
if he have done thee no harm.
Pro 25:8 Go not forth hastily to strive,
lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof,
when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.
Isa 41:11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee
shall be ashamed and confounded:
they shall be as nothing;
and they that strive with thee shall perish.
Isa 45:9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth.
Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it,
What makest thou?
or thy work,
He hath no hands?
Jer 50:24 I have laid a snare for thee,
and thou art also taken, O Babylon,
and thou wast not aware:
thou art found,
and also caught,
because thou hast striven against the LORD.
Hos 4:4 Yet let no man strive,
nor reprove another:
for thy people are as they
that strive with the priest.

neither shall any man hear
his voice in the streets.

for many, I say unto you,
will seek to enter in,
and shall not be able.
Rom 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel,
not where Christ was named,
lest I should build upon
another man’s foundation:
21. But as it is written,
To whom he was not spoken of,
they shall see:
and they that have not heard
shall understand.
Rom 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren,
for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake,
and for the love of the Spirit,
that ye strive together with me
in your prayers to God for me;
31. That I may be delivered
from them that do not believe in Judaea;
and that my service which I have
for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
32. That I may come unto you
with joy by the will of God,
and may with you be refreshed.
33. Now the God of peace
be with you all. Amen.

is temperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown;
but we an incorruptible.

yet is he not crowned,
except he strive lawfully.
2Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance,
charging them before the Lord that
they strive not about words to no profit,
but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Ti 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive;
but be gentle unto all men,
apt to teach, patient,
25. In meekness instructing those
that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure
will give them repentance
to the acknowledging of the truth;
26. And that they may
recover themselves
out of the snare of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will.
