I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “persecute…d…”.

Deu 30:7 And the LORD thy God will put
all these curses upon thine enemies,
and on them that hate thee,
which persecuted thee.

Job 19:22 Why do ye persecute me as God,
and are not satisfied with my flesh?

Job 19:28 But ye should say, Why persecute we him,
seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

Psa 7:1 O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust:
save me from all them that persecute me,
and deliver me:

Psa 7:5 Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea,
let him tread down my life upon the earth,
