I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “often”.
Job 33:29 Lo, all these things
worketh God oftentimes with man,
30. To bring back his soul from the pit,
to be enlightened with the light of the living.
Pro 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck,
shall suddenly be destroyed,
and that without remedy.
Ecc 7:22 For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth
that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.
Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD
spake often one to another:
and the LORD hearkened, and heard it,
and a book of remembrance was written before him
for them that feared the LORD,
and that thought upon his name.
Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
thou that killest the prophets,
and stonest them which are sent unto thee,
how often would I have gathered
thy children together,
even as a hen gathereth her chickens
under her wings, and ye would not!
Mar 5:4 Because that he had been
often bound with fetters and chains,
and the chains had been plucked asunder by him,
and the fetters broken in pieces:
neither could any man tame him.
Luk 5:33 And they said unto him,
Why do the disciples of John fast often,
and make prayers,
and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees;
but thine eat and drink?
Luk 8:29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man.
For oftentimes it had caught him:
and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters;
and he brake the bands,
and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
Luk 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
which killest the prophets,
and stonest them that are sent unto thee;
how often would I have gathered
thy children together,
as a hen doth gather her brood
under her wings, and ye would not!
Act 24:26 He hoped also that money
should have been given him of Paul,
that he might loose him:
wherefore he sent for him the oftener,
and communed with him.
Rom 1:13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren,
that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you,
(but was let hitherto),
that I might have some fruit among you also,
even as among other Gentiles.
1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread,
and drink this cup,
ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
2Co 8:22 And we have sent with them our brother,
whom we have oftentimes proved
diligent in many things,
but now much more diligent,
upon the great confidence which I have in you.
2Co 11:26 In journeyings often,
in perils of waters,
in perils of robbers,
in perils by mine own countrymen,
in perils by the heathen,
in perils in the city,
in perils in the wilderness,
in perils in the sea,
in perils among false brethren;
2Co 11:27 In weariness and painfulness,
in watchings often,
in hunger and thirst,
in fastings often,
in cold and nakedness.
Phi 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often,
and now tell you even weeping,
that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19. Whose end is destruction,
whose God is their belly,
and whose glory is in their shame,
who mind earthly things.)
1Ti 5:23 Drink no longer water,
but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake
and thine often infirmities.
Heb 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often,
as the high priest entereth into the holy place
every year with blood of others;
Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered
since the foundation of the world:
but now once in the end of the world
hath he appeared to put away sin
by the sacrifice of himself.
Heb 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering
and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,
which can never take away sins:
Rev 11:6 These have power to shut heaven,
that it rain not in the days of their prophecy:
and have power over waters to turn them to blood,
and to smite the earth with all plagues,
as often as they will.
