The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised, – Luke 4:18

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “bruised”.
Leviticus 22:24 Ye shall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruised,
or crushed,
or broken,
or cut;
neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.
2 Kings 18:21 Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed,
even upon Egypt,
on which if a man lean,
it will go into his hand, and pierce it:
so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
Isaiah 28:28 Bread corn is bruised;
because he will not ever be threshing it,
nor break it with the wheel of his cart,
nor bruise it with his horsemen.
Isaiah 42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break,
and the smoking flax shall he not quench:
he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
Ezekiel 23:3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt;
they committed whoredoms in their youth:
there were their breasts pressed,
and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.
Ezekiel 23:8 Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt:
for in her youth they lay with her,
and they bruised the breasts of her virginity,
and poured their whoredom upon her.
Matthew 12:20 A bruised reed shall he not break,
and smoking flax shall he not quench,
till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,
