I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “thankful”.

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Acts 24:3 We accept it always,
and in all places,
most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God,
they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful;
but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
