I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV,  the following verses were given in the context of “espoused”.

2 Samuel 3:14   And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul’s son,
saying, Deliver me my wife Michal,
which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.

Matthew 1:18   Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together,
she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Luke 1:27   To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph,
of the house of David;
and the virgin’s name was Mary.

Luke 2:5   To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife,
being great with child.

2 Corinthians 11:2   For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy:
for I have espoused you to one husband,
that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
