Election, Selection and Chosen

“Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay:
for shall the work say of him that made it,
He made me not?
or
shall the thing framed say of him that framed it,
He had no understanding? ”

– Isa-29:16

I am no preacher, but, am a sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, the following verses were given in the context of “Race, Election, Selection and Chosen” from the Book of Life (The Holy Bible-KJV).

God Almighty Defines !!

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose

Many are running in a race but only one – the winner  – is awarded

1Co-9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all,
but one receiveth the prize?
So run, that ye may obtain.

Heb-12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset  us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of  our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

                     In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
Psa-19:5 Which  is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

Ecc-9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race  is not to the swift,
nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise,
nor yet riches to men of understanding,
nor yet favour to men of skill;
but time and chance happeneth to them all.

One shall be taken, and the other left

Luke 17:34. I tell you, in that night there shall be two  men in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
                    35. Two  women shall be grinding together;
the one shall be taken, and the other left.
                    36. Two  men shall be in the field;
the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luke 15. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
              16. And fell down on  his face at his feet,
giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

One and the Other – Esau and Jacob

Gen-25:23 And the LORD said unto her,
Two nations  are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels;
and  the one people shall be stronger than  the other people;
and the elder shall serve the younger.
Rom-9:12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

Election & Chosen

Rom 9:21  Hath not the potter power over the clay,
of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour,
and another unto dishonour?

Rom 9:11 (For the children being not yet born,
neither having done any good or evil,
that the purpose of God according to election might stand,
not of works, but of him that calleth ; )

Mark 13:20  And except that the Lord had shortened those days,
no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake,
whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

1Cor 1:27  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise;
and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1Pet 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation,
a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10. Which in time past  were not a people, but  are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Rev 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb,
and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords,
and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
